Who Needs Keys!
We just recently moved into a new home and one of the initiatives that I've been working to do is to reduce the number of keys that I need to bring with me when I’m out of the house! As it stands now with the installation of the Nest x Yale Lock, all I need is the Key Fob for my car, which is amazing! The Nest x Yale Lock is an amazing smart lock and we've gladly added it to our collection of smart home devices! It operates quite well as advertised; we are able to lock it and unlock it using the touch panel and/or using our smartphone devices via the nest app. We also love the feature that we can use Google home to check if the door is locked and even ask it to lock the door for us while home.Installation was for the most part a breeze; however, your mileage may vary depending on the condition/setup of your prior door lock/deadbolt. Fortunately for me, my door cutouts were pretty much a direct match with the Nest x Yale lock set out of the box. Where I did hit a snag was struggling to fully extend the deadbolt to fit properly. At first, it only extended partially, I had to really jiggle and tug to fully extend the deadbolt to get it to fit precisely. As others may have noted, the Nest X Yale lock is very sensitive with regard to the strike plate. I did have to re-adjust the strike plate to ensure that the deadbolt didn't miss as it operates. If you have a loose-fitting door when closed, be sure that you firmly shut your door before having Nest X Yale operate or it may end up missing the strike plate. We've just gotten into the habit of firmly closing the door to ensure smooth operation of the dead bolt.Additionally, bonus feature that we like is the ability to setup guest pins for use which allows us to keep track of who's accessed our home. We also enjoy being able to keep track/see who's operated our door as it's all tracked on the Nest app.Overall, we are quite pleased with how well the Nest X Yale works! It looks beautiful and is adds a refreshing look to our front door but most importantly makes our lives easier. We never have to worry about forgetting our house keys again and that's worth every penny!

looks great and works well except...
I love the color which matches my brass door knob and is aesthetically pleasing. It is fabulous looking. The installation was fairly easy. It will take you about 15-30 minutes to install it depending if it fits your door. The smart lock is not as bulky as the August smart lock. The device is pricey, but I got on on sale during Black Friday / Cyber Monday. I don't think I would pay over $250 for the device. My Nest Connect did not connect with device or my WIFI. I had to call Nest and they are sending me a replacement. So I have yet to see how it connects to my Nest account.Otherwise I can still manually add codes to the device and it is nice that it can talk and has autolock. Will see how long the AA battery life lasts before I have to replace them.Addendum: got new nest connect replacement which works great now. The lock doesnt lock fully and says errors, but still does the job. Maybe because of the cold weather. I had to realign the bolt and it works well now without error message.

Zero Fs Given by Google Support
### Review: Nest Connect and Google Yale LockI've been using the Nest Connect and Google Yale Lock for a few months now, and my experience has been frustrating, to say the least. The main issue is that they frequently go offline, which completely defeats the purpose of having a smart lock and connected system.**Connectivity Issues**: Despite having a strong Wi-Fi signal, both the Nest Connect and the Yale Lock struggle to stay connected. This has left me locked out of my home on several occasions and has made remote access and control virtually impossible.**Inconsistent Performance**: When the devices are online, they work well. However, this consistency is rare. The connection drops often, and I find myself constantly having to reset or troubleshoot the devices.**Customer Support**: Reaching out to customer support has not been very helpful. The standard troubleshooting steps don't resolve the core issue of the connectivity problems, and I've yet to receive a solution that actually works.**Firmware Updates**: While I appreciate that Nest and Google try to fix issues through firmware updates, these updates haven't resolved the offline problems. In fact, sometimes they seem to create new issues.**Overall Experience**: For the premium price point, I expected a lot more reliability from both the Nest Connect and the Google Yale Lock. The frequent offline status makes them unreliable for daily use. I cannot recommend these products until significant improvements are made to their connectivity and performance.I've been using the Nest Connect and Google Yale Lock for a few months now, and my experience has been frustrating, to say the least. Proceed with caution if you're considering adding these to your smart home setup.
