This thermometer offers quick and accurate readings with a folding probe and is easy to use.
Although perhaps a little extreme, I have bought three of these thermometers, two for me and one for a friend who wanted a thermometer for testing foods.The Hygiplas model considered here, unlike the other two, has a probe that can be folded back against the handle. This is ideal for measuring foods in a pan for example. This is used on a daily basis for testing the cooled temperature of previously boiled milk for yoghurt making.The final model, also by Hygiplas, has a probe attached to a reader via a cable that can be used at quite a length. This was bought for measuring personal body temperature to replace a traditional thermometer. It is easy to hold the probe in the mouth while holding the read display in the other hand or resting it elsewhere as required. More traditionally it is effective for measuring foods where a distance from the tester is required.A number of temperature tests have been carried out on all three of these and the results have been both fast and remarkably consistent with each other. They also match the readings on a room temperature display unit.All three thermometers have the same options to start/ stop, to auto switch off and to memorise a previous reading. They all deliver the same impressive level of accuracy so choice is best made according to need as described above.This particular thermometer offers quick and accurate readings and is easy to use.

Difficult to read
Although this thermometer is a reasonable price, it's very difficult to read unless you keep moving your head around. The digital display is unclear and it's not a patch on a more expensive model.

I’ve owned a few of these in the past, the Hygiplas ones are without doubt the most accurate and best quality. They give you a confidence in the temperature reading taken, that others do not.
