Megan can go for walks in daylight again!
The media could not be loaded. Megan has been having the 'attacks' in the video while walking in daylight, but she's fine in fading light and at night.Vet has given no explanation for them, so foeced to find my own solution I thought this for £10 was worth a try.It arrived today and although she initially tried to get it off she settled down after a couple of minutes. The mask looks solid black but you can see through it, and the muzzle is flexible enough that she can still drink. She went over front door step with no hesitation, and walked in shade and bright sun with no issues at all. She can see where she's going (even at 14yrs) and still happy to sniff around the ground as normal, so doesn't seem to bother her at all.I've gone for XL because of the size around her mouth, even though the straps around get neck will need shortening a bit.One day might not seem a long enough trial, but she's not be able to go out like this for quite some time.

It works!
My beloved Buddy had a tough start in life, and this has caused him to chase lights and shadows. Very manageable around the house, not so easy when he's travelling in the rear of my car. He's destroyed 2 back seat hammocks while trying to chase lights and shadows by scratching and chewing - and we have the back windows covered. Figured we'd give this a try. It has made a massive difference and now car travel is less stressful for us both.

Need to work on sizing
I was at the bottom of the size range for what I ordered, and adjusting it to its smallest size still leaves me with a fairly loose fit. It works but it could work better.

Has potential
Easy to put on, I thought it was going to be a debacle. I just gave my dog a ton of treats through the snout hole and again while he wears it on his face so he’s pretty jazzed to see it now. He can’t see great while wearing it…kind of the idea, but he still can somewhat see. It’s like two ply gym short material. I’m going to try it in the car just to get my dog to calm down from being so overstimulated. I think with tenacity a dog can paw this off on their own if you aren’t keeping an eye on them. An interesting product worth trying.

Practice in calm before you need to use it for stress
I have a travel van now and my dachshund/chihuahua mix (I know, stupid combo-she’s a puppy mill rescue) has developed anxiety while traveling. She was supposed to be my travel buddy and I’m trying to help her in any way I can.I ordered a small and it was actually a perfect fit with excellent adjustment abilities in everywhere but the snout (it’s basically a stretchy hair tie). My first try was in the house. My dog flipped out to the point of rolling around and scratching her face to get it off. She hates it. I tried it a second time in the van before leaving-same flipping out and scratching. Then the third time when she just wouldn’t settle down and it managed to stay on for about 10 minutes but I had to tell her noooo when she started to try to take it off. The fabric in mine isn’t as see thru as I’d hoped or she could be closing her eyes - she has no vision with it on.I will try again but if her anxiety is stemming from being carsick I don’t think this will help. She did finally lay down (and sill stress) just to not get it put on again.I highly recommend giving it several short anoint of time attempts before you use it on a stressful situation. Maybe sit and watch tv while petting the dog with it on.I feel like it is made well and nicely adjustable. Maybe a slightly larger snout hole rubberband would be better but not necessary. I don’t think it would work at all on a shitzu or frenchie, it would look like madonnas cone bra on them.
