Shoot 'em up fun
This is a post apocalyptic game set around the area of, and in New Vegas, which has its own "Strip". I've spent hours and hours playing it. It is the only Fallout game I've played so I can't compare it to any of the others. However for a 6 year old game the graphics are still reasonable, and the world you play in is quite large. The variety of weapons and characters, and the multitude of factions you can side with, and therefore also oppose, or upset, make this totally immersive and for me, somewhat confusing! But that's just me; I'm an aging middle-aged gamer, and not as sharp or as quick to pick up the finer points of a game like this. I believe there are 30 levels in the game, and although I haven't quite reached the end of the storyline I can see where it is leading now. There are a multitude of possible ways to get there as well.My reason for not giving the game 5 stars is because the game does freeze, or crash completely, quite regularly. I would say probably about once every 3 or 4 hours. But don't let that put you off, this is well worth getting, as you can pick it up very cheap and its a lot of fun.

...
I had ordered this purchase with the ''free shipping'' offer so i thought it would take at least 5 days. i actually received it on the 3rd day which i was very pleased about. The product itself is as it says - Unopened and Brand new - I was wary at the start but then soon realised that it was brand new. This game only cost me, i think, £8 which is a total steal because nevertheless how old the game is for a brand new disc out of 'GAME' it would have cost me at least 20 even finding a brand new one would be hard to find anyways. So in conclusion im super happy with this product, price, shipping and delivery time ! A+++++ to Amazon.

Fels like 2000 game instead of 2010!
One of the worst games i've ever played. Despite being a bit dated gamers were saying how good it was and they were dying for fallout 4 release. The game looks and plays like it was on the sega megadrive. Thankfully it was £5, but £5 wasted!!Keep Fallout 4 you guys are easily amused!!!

Spent an hour creating my character...
I must have spent an hour creating my character to resemble me, accidentally moved the preset slider and reset everything so had to customize again. Spent another couple of hours trying to get it just right, falling into and out of a comatose state, but he ended up looking virtually nothing like me. Met with the Doc who, right off the bat, saved my skinny ass from a wasteland warzone. This does not bode well for my character going forward. Doc asked me my name, to which I replied "World Pigeon", before running through a bunch of health checks, vital signs and stats - if I'd known this was coming, I'd not have wasted time on the character-building. After this, I walk around the Doc's old shack and pick up and pack practically everything the old shack contains into (presumably) my rucksack, pockets, every available orifice, items such as saucepans, the hob itself, detergents, toaster, all kinds of absolute tat, with seemingly no end to how much I can carry on my person (and no clue as to what possible use any of this will have, what benefits it will confer, what life-changing consequences...), plus of course the requisite stim packs and band-aids. I talk to the Doc some more, pointless small talk to avoid the inevitable shredding I will receive as soon as I step outside the door. And then I'm out facing a vast Nevada desertscape with tumbleweeds and tumblebot tweedledees reminding me of my utter existential loneliness and despair. Here goes nothing!I save the game and switch off the console. The next day...Where to? Hm, I think I'll go in the direction of the gas station up on the hill, keep to the trail. Nothing there. No inbred attendants to serve me or prolong my weasel life. Feeling a little bit alone and a bit braver - bordering on stupidity - I walk off the beaten track and into the canyons fiddling between first-person and third-person, checking out my pale junkie avatar, his looks having changed incomprehensibly since I made him mere moments ago (in game time). He looks disconcertingly more like me. It's very strange. I find nothing in the mountain range and can't climb too high as I'm all puffed-out, pallid and dehydrated, so I descend the jagged slopes to a cowboy encampment that appears to be abandoned... Maybe there'll be a can of baked beans. Before I get close enough to catch a whiff of the rusty cuisine therein, I notice some freakazoid behemoths in a flap around the tents. What the actual fructose! My legs go weak and buckle. The behemoths smell my cowardice and come for me, but they, too, can't seem to handle the steep elevation. I go to them, instead, hoping in my favour that they will remain stuck between a rock and the hardest punch to the anthropod eyes I can deliver. But it seems to be a game of turns. I get a few swift punches in before my life essence is sucked off by a multitude of proboscises.I decide to keep to the trail this time - same direction but maybe I can sneak past those demonstrative creatures! - passing a sign or two which reads something like 'Warning' or 'Danger' or 'Keep out' and giving it an effete wave. All of a sudden danger strikes, there's more of those fly suckers on the path up ahead, and my floppy wave turns into a determined quick draw for my weapon which I cannot find. So, I pull out of my boy racer suit a metal pole to swing at them. Before I can do that, a roadrunning robot thing speeds up behind me like the coin-activated 'cooker' in Wallace & Gromit - it's looking like a serious case of moon buggery to me at this point - and I think to myself 'what a wonderful world' when, to my surprise and my relief, this robot turns out to be an AI sheriff - of course, what else - here to get me out of my mad max trouble. I feel even more feeble but I'm indebted to him. I kind of wish the whole game could be like this, cowering behind the sheriff and letting him slash and hack and six-shoot his way through the wasteland, which he seems to want to do or has a propensity for, whilst I occasionally partake in the scarce culture. But he leaves me, as everyone does, and I continue down the trail where I hear more of those sodding creatures. I get stung, not once but twice, starting over, my 'howdy partner' pal saving the day not once but twice more. I change my approach and decide to walk over the hill on my right towards a cross on the horizon, to be saved, redeemed, which is fast becoming (for me) the parable of this game. Not far into my footfall, however, I encounter some terrifying oversized man-eating scorpions, bloated on radiation, and I choose to outrun them - no, that doesn't work - outjump them for about a quarter of a mile to the cross which turns out to be of little purport; there is no inviting church or safe haven. The scorpions surround me, stuck on the circular railings at the perimeter of the cross, and I try to get a few pistol shots in. It's not really very effective, I wonder what the point of all this is, and so I choose to run - jump - for the hills. More hills. I stumble upon a Tatooine tourist pod and duck inside just as a scorpion stinger embeds itself in the door. I desperately look around, filling my pockets with more pointless sh-- (chips, casino chips), I attend to my failing health and then I step up to the toilet and interact with it thinking it's asking me to urinate; I press x (or whichever button it is) and pathetically squirt, so I do it again, squirt, and again, squirt, so I deduce I'm basically shy of going (in back of the TV screen) or my bladder has shut down from the fear and malnourishment of what's just been happening or it's an empty tank situation and I'm forcing a wee out of it. Maybe I'm supposed to hold the button to allow for a full release. Ah there we go, consistent flow. But then I realise to my horror (and great amusement) that the squirt is actually a slurp and I've been unknowingly drinking - gulping down - the radiated water from out of the toilet bowl. (Why would it even give me that option?!) I stagger over to the bed with minutes on my health, sickened, both in-game and of-game, climbing under the covers, shivering, reflecting on my pathetic life in New Vegas. That's a wrap!I thought this was going to be a standard open world first-person shooter, which I seem to remember Fallout 3 as being, but it's more of a strategic RPG affair. Weird game.

As good or better than Fallout 3
This is definitely a game to buy if your into Action Rpg's just like Fallout 3. Although Fallout 3 was already a very good game, I thinkNew Vegas surpasses its predecessor by little. Contrary to what most people think I believe New Vegas is better than Fallout 3 because of some small details. For instance the sound effects, in fallout the 10mm handgun sound was awful, as were other types of guns that in New Vegas are much more improved. The story also got a lot criticism but I find it very intriguing and It feels like your in a post nuclear war Western. The co-op mode with a computer character is much better and the way they join you makes sense, as if karma played its part and they feel they ow something to you. Overall I give it a 4.5 stars although I can't actually give it that score...Buy this if you like Rpg or if you never tried action Rpg before. It's like I defined Fallout 3, Its Oblivion but in a different time with different Weapons but same style.

Best game
Best game ever. Bought this version because my PS3 couldn't handle the edition with all the DLC. Was worried it would lack content but I was VERY wrong. Every time I play I always find new quests and characters and the characters have an amazing detailed back story that you just fall in love with. If you want a game with amazing story and freeness with awesome characters and story and a game you come back to iall the time and never get bored, this is the one
