This is a HUGE mug. I don't think I've ever had a 15oz coffee mug before, this is massive - but with a thin-ish wall, so it's not noticeably heavier than a normal coffe mug. The rock handle is easy to hold if you're a rock climber, and so I absolutely LOVE this thing for the novelty and the feeling that it was aboslutely made for me. Also, yes, the top of the mug is mildly wavy instead of level - but it's pretty easy to drink from one of the dips, so I don't think this is a negative at all.As noted in the product writeup and on the bottom of the mug, hand-wash only, and don't microwave. That appears to be a real drawback for some people, and if that's a problem for you then don't get this mug. The glue attaching the handle to the mug isn't made for that kind of abuse. But if you're good to this mug it'll last with no trouble.I get a kick out of using this mug every day. It's a 2-pack so I keep one at home and one at my desk at work so that no matter where I am I get to show off my rock climbing cred and practic a pinch with every sip. (Don't worry, even full to the brim this is not a challenging grip. I don't think you're going to drop your drink.)If you looked at this going "Ooh, that looks like it might be fun!" for yourself or for a climber you know, GO FOR IT. (Yes, I could have made a 'Send It' joke there, but did I really need to?)

I got these as a gift for a climbing buddy. These mugs are super fun and great conversation pieces. Even though they’re climbing holds, they’re relevantly easy to grip and you can always grip the mugs themselves. They’re quite large, which I like, and can easily accommodate a bowl of soup.They’re not dishwasher safe, but because of their size, they’re very easy to clean. They have a wavy lip, which is actually kinda nice. It seems very ergonomic and works well when drinking and eating. I also like that it came with two. I’ve seen other climbing mugs, but value-wise, this set seems to be the best.I use them for a multitude of things, snacks, coffee, tea, and juice. Guests always comment on their uniqueness of them as well. I’d totally recommend these fun, practical magus for any climbing enthusiast or mug collector!

This was a gift for someone that loves to do the indoor rock climbing. He got such a kick out of this mug. So much so, that he purchased one for a friend. It is such a unique idea. The grip is made out of the same material as what is used at the rock climbing studios. Very authentic. The mug is quite durable and has held up.

My daughter has been a rock climber for years though mainly indoors. I thought this would be a cute gift for her and she really likes it. Hers arrived unbroken in good packaging. The handles are kind of odd to hold but I guess rock climbers are used to that kind of "handle". It is larger than the average coffee mug and, therefore, heavier...but it seems the point is to train your grip while you drink your coffee. So the weight plus the weird handle make sense. It's really more of a novelty than anything but my daughter is happy with it and, therefore, so am I.

Bought these as a gift for my rock-climbing son and daughter-in-law. They laughed when they saw them which is a good sign LOL. Really these are cute and fun for any climbing enthusiast.

If you actually fill this mug up, hold it with one hand (please be careful), you might actually be working on your grip! This is a comically large mug, which adds to the theme of being able to get it to be of a decent weight. The grip does feel genuine and nice, no chalk needed so you don't accidentally consume it as well. This is quite the hoot for silly gooses who have the calluses to prove it. The edges are wavy but also ads to the charm of this.5 stars, grip gets stronger with each sip.

My brother loves his coffee, and loves his rock climbing. What a perfect and unique gift! If you are brave enough, you really can practice your grip in the morning while drinking your piping hot coffee (you can even use the little holes on the handle itself if you want a more challenging grip).Might just be a gimmick, but at the very least it is a conversation starter.
